Midi is the new Maxi

I'm really loving the midi dresses and skirts this season- especially the drop back styles! I actually wasn't a fan at first, but now I can't get enough! Because they are usually rather floaty and wispy garments, I tend to team it with a closer fitting top or body to create a more flattering shape, as baggy tops + loose bottoms often project a sack of potatoes image! If the skirt is patterned keep the top plain and simple and just match the key hues, if it's a plain block colour, a patterned/ floral top will be sure to bring out some zest! If your going for a more classic, sophisticated vibe, mix simple neutral tones and accessories with some statement jewellery. This is what I went for when attending a friend's birthday the other week; opt for a body rather than a vest with the midi skirt, as it stays smooth as opposed to a vest top which often becomes untucked or crumpled around the midriff area. I chose this nude body with side lace inserts to add a little more interest.
