Café de Flore

After my Parisian frolicking, I just have to see this film! Described as 'atmospheric, fantastical, tragic and hopeful' ...it sounds right up my street; I do love a good arty farty romance..especially a French one as we all must know by now! The film explores the lives of Jaqcqueline, (Vanessa Paradis) a young Mother with a disabled son in 1960's Paris, and Antoine; a recently divorced and sucessful DJ in present day Montreal. The two parallel stories are bound together by euphoric, obsessive, tragic, youthful, timeless love. Despite conviction that The title "Cafe de Flore" refers to the famous Boulevard St-Germain café, it is actually about a musical theme running through the film that connects the characters in 1960s Paris to those in present-day Montreal. A definite must see for Parisian lovers!

  1. Sounds like a great film. I wonder if it ever arrives Dubai.. thanks for sharing M!

  2. You'll have to keep your eyes open on the internet if not...one not to be missed I think! :)
