Henley Royal Regatta Style Tips...

As I am brimming with excitement for yet another Royal weekend, taking a trip to Henley Royal Regatta, I thought I would treat you all to a little dress inspiration and a few style tips to look just top notch at one of the boating events of the year! Here is my round up of some of the sweetest summer dresses fit for a Regatta, among the high street. I've included a variety of shapes and styles- from classic A-lines and shifts, to more elegant maxis and chic bodycons, girly florals, nautical stripes, tropical brights,, lace and pastels!

A few styling tips for some of the eligible Regatta dress types...

Think tan accessories, cork, wicker, woven fabrics, floppy straw hats, espadrille wedges, spots and stripes, florals, lace, garden tea party, nautical, terribly British!

What will you be wearing to the Regatta?

Fashion Role Model Award

So this post is a little behind the times now, but here is my lovely little badge I was presented with for winning the 'Fashion Role Model' award for my store; a great honour to be recognised by management for my penchant for all things Topshop! I think I was more excited with the idea of having my very own badge, than I was with the £50 gift voucher prize...
The midi dress I got with my voucher.. (apologies for the photo quality..the only form of camera at work was my humble little blackberry)

A Right Royal Knees Up: Royal Ascot Ladies Day!

This Thursday saw the return of Ladies Day, at Royal Ascot for 2012. As usual the day saw an abundance of a wide variety of extravagant and elaborate head wear, dresses of every colour under the rainbow and tottering heels trying desperately not to sink into the grass! Hardly surprisingly, the great British weather did decide to make an appearance for the event, meaning there was an added accessory for most of the ladies: an umbrella (with beautiful designs, naturally!) I attended the Royal affair with a very close friend of mine, and I speak for the both of us when I say we well and truly had a very jolly old knees up indeed!
 Before we left...
Wearing: dress: Oasis, jacket: Hoss Intropia, fascinator: John Lewis, clutch: Accessorize
We all had a very merry time dancing away to the sound of the band here...absolutely nothing to do with the amount of champagne consumed...ahem..
Had to take a sneaky picture of this amazing sunflower hat!

Love this hat!
Having a whale of a time!
Princess Highway won for me!! Victory photo!

I am off to Henley Royal Regatta this weekend so I am very pleased I will have another chance to don a new dress and hat...!

London Love

The other week while in London for the Reiss press day, I took a little trip to Covent Garden- one of my favourite places to visit in the city, purely for it's tourist and holiday vibe, laid back chic and something is always going on! First stop was the gorgeously bright and bold Kate Spade, for a nosey at the new collections and to breathe in a dose of summer! I can honestly say I wanted to purchase everything! Especially seeing as many of the collections were giving a strong nod to the prominent Neon trend right now...which I LOVE! Check out their creative illustrated windows too...
Bright, bold and beautiful!

A couple of cheeky purchases that I just couldn't resist...some cute neon ankle socks and a new mug for my collection!
These were pictures of all the different designs of mugs you could buy, I think the drawings are delightful! They're created to mimic a magazine cover..soo cute!
Time for a quick Pimm's o'clock with a dear friend of mine!
Chin chin!

I love the weather when it's like that, and you get everyone milling about drinking cider and spritzers outside pubs and cafes on a work evening...more of these please!

Wearing: tangerine tailored dress: Miss Selfridge, scarf: Vintage (Paris), bag: Marc B, neon pumps: Primark.

Dining Alfresco at Laduree, Covent Garden.

The day would not have been complete without taking a few of these babies home!
What's your favourite macaroon flavour?

Charity Shop Bargains...

Last month while I was visiting the beautiful Stanwells boutique in Lymmington, I decided to have a rummage through some of the charity shops there to see if I could find some treasure! I came across this sparkly beauty, for an absolute steal at just £5, Miss Magpie snapped this little hidden gem right up! Here is how I decided to style it for it's first outing...
Wearing: Lime lace jacket: Vintage, 'Prada esque' car print pleated skirt: Primark, lemon sandals: River Island.
Do you love a good charity shop bargain?

Poppies and Castles...

The other week myself and my Mr decided to take a trip to the lovely town of Guildford for our anniversary day out. First stop was Guildford Castle, which overlooked stunning gardens surrounding the Castle, and picturesque views of the historic town. It was a gloriously warm and sunny day, so it was perfect to just casually stroll around enjoying the sights and taking time to relax.
Wearing: Poppy print bralet: Topshop, pleated midi skirt: Primark, bag: New Look.
