Happy Hallow's Eve...!

If your having some last minute panic fashion moments for Halloween outfits for this evening, I've compiled a little mood board for inspiration! If, like me, you prefer to buy pieces that you'll be able to use again for everyday outfits, then some of this lot should get your creative styling juices flowing! If you're in a rush, just dig out all your black lace and rich velvets and pile it all on with a smattering of fake blood and some spiky accessories and you're good to go - anything goes at Halloween right!?
Happy Halloweening!

#TrendingFashion Event with Stylist Wendy Elsmore

This weekend just gone, I was invited to attend the #trendingfashion event held at Festival Place shopping center in Basingstoke. The event took place between Friday 26th-29th and included a variety of fashion shows from high-street favourites such as M&SDebenhamsPhase Eight plus many more, as well as make-up and hair tips and tricks from the ladies at Shear Beauty. The main event however, was the Fashion Fix in Five presented by Celebrity Stylist and London College of Style founder, Wendy Elsmore - and what an honour it was to be able to meet such an influential and inspirational member of the creative fashion industry! Wendy was absolutely charming and talked me through her style choices to team with the perfect pair of jeans which were sourced from Debenhams, to fit and suit women of all ages and all body shapes. Check out some of the pieces she put together to create a chic but effortless look, followed by some images I took of the fashion show which followed Wendy's Fashion Fix in Five. A big thank you to Wendy and her publicist Kate for taking the time out of their busy schedules to meet me - I had a fab time!

Designer Disney Princess Dresses for Harrods...

Not long to wait now for Harrods Christmas window installation, set to launch in November which will feature a bespoke collection of dresses designed especially for our favourite Disney princesses by none other than iconic names such as Valentino, Versace, Elie Saab and Oscar de la Renta. I for one cannot wait to see what the designers come up with! The windows are set to be unveiled in November. Head to Vogue for the full report.

Studs & Fur

A quick post to show what I was wearing when I was on my way out to the #trendingfashion event at Festival Place in Basingstoke, with styling by super stylist and all round fashion mentor, Wendy Elsmore. I will post pictures and a reportage of the event tomorrow...

The Dark Side of Nude: New Topshop Makeup Collection

From left to right: Eye palette in Prism, nails in Panther, lips in Fawn, eye palette in Atmosphere, nails in Thorn, nails in Granite, mascara in Onyx, nails in Stardust and lips in Wicked.
I love the new makeup collection for Topshop this season; the epitome of dark and dangerous with a sparkly twist...I will most definitely be rocking the Wicked lips and Stardust nails with my Christmas party outfit this year! It's also inspiring me for a shoot I have planned for the next few weeks...

What takes your fancy from the new range?

Lana Del Rey - Ride

The most beautiful, profound and thought provoking lyrics I have heard in a long time...

October Outfit

For today's outfit I wore my new Miss Selfridge burgundy marl knit dress, teamed with my trusty wet looks from Topshop, an old River Island brocade jacket dug out especially for the new wave brocade which is everywhere right now, a Vintage cloche hat to get in the mood for the inevitable arrival of the Great Gatsby trend and these bargainous plum suede wedges from none other than... Primarni! An absolute steal at £20 and bang on trend with this seasons big burgundy colour moment, I absolutely love them! Finally, I've been waiting to wear my little complimentary moustache necklace that I received in my Look Show goodie bag by Boohoo, and thought this was the perfect, cute outfit to team it with, thank you Boohoo!

Have you latched onto the berry trend yet and how are you wearing it?

Tim Walker: Story Teller

Another Somerset House exhibition I am extremely keen to get to ASAP. Tim Walker has been one of my favourite photographers for years now; his unique, fairy-tale and surreal set designs and imaginative concepts are just so my cup of tea. I want to live in a Tim Walker editorial!

"Sometimes when you're taking a picture an extraordinary sense of luck and chance takes over and propels you to make pictures that you couldn't in your wildest dreams have imagined. This is the magic of photography." - Tim Walker
Photo taken from fashion telegraph
'The exhibition is accompanied by a series of events that feature many of Tim Walker’s long-time collaborators and uncover the influences and stories behind his work. There will be workshops for all ages offering visitors the opportunity to work with some of the set designers and prop builders who have worked with Tim Walker throughout his career and talks will include Tim Walker in Conversation with Penny Martin. Throughout the exhibition there will also be the opportunity to see a series of films specially curated by Tim Walker. Made up of films that have inspired and influenced many of his images, they will include cult movies such as La Belle at la Bete, The Red Shoes, A Matter of Life and Death and Tim’s own first feature The Lost Explorer

To coincide with the exhibition, Thames & Hudson will publish Story Teller by Tim Walker featuring over 175 inspirational images, collages and snapshots from Walker’s personal archives.

LFW S/S13: Carlotta Actis Barone Catwalk

Inspired by elements from the opera, The Magic Flute, the Carlotta Actis Barone S/S13 show was by far one of my favourites that I saw this LFW. Opened by a flurry of brightly dressed, smiling ballet dancers pirouetting and sashaying down the runway, I was immediately enthralled.
The dancers were clad in beautiful structured tutus, with a marble effect of swirling colours and neon green tights with orange, silk ballet slippers, while two others were donning nude all in ones with illustrative music notes and words all over, all complete with a neon orange ostrich feather pinned artfully in their candyfloss hairstyles.

The collection was an array of bold colour clashing, neons, quirkiness and downright fun. The pieces were unique to the designers' signature style and delivers her tagline without disappointment for her 5th collection, The wearer becomes a representation of femininity as well as the carrier of a message.
Did you see the show, what were your thoughts?
