I am hugely enjoying this spell of glorious sunny weather we are having recently, and making the most of being able to wear pretty, floaty dresses and skirts to keep me and bump calm, cool and collected in the much needed heat. Last week I took a trip to Winchester; I always love going there to the beautiful park, with the weeping willows and swans it really is idyllic in the sunshine and of course it is the perfect location for snapping up a few bargains, in the numerous charity shops scattered around the historical town. On this occasion, I actually did not bother too much with shopping, (nothing at all to do with the fact a few days earlier I went to Fleet and found some treasures...ahem) but Mumma Magpie and I just relaxed in the park with a lovely picnic, whilst the little bro practised his tricks in the skate park opposite.
Bump and I enjoying the sunshine.
Bargain Primark sandals in sorbet pink - I snapped up a pair of lemon ones too, can't go wrong!
What I'm Wearing: Floral maxi skirt, chunky necklace, sandals and quilted chain bag: all Primark, gold glitter cardigan: Mango
We stuck to our promise of not spending any money, but we allowed ourselves the guilt free pleasure of a bit of wistful window shopping. I didn't take as many photos as I usually would of window displays, but here are a couple.
I find myself automatically being drawn to baby shops now in favour of anything else these days, and this was no exception. I loved this cute little display in Jojo Maman Bebe, with the little toy cake stand and picnic. I did make the mistake of wandering in and finding I wanted to buy half the merchandise in there, so I swiftly had to make an exit to save myself!
Love all these quirky little lotions and potions bottles, with their vintage style labels.
After a lovely day we decided to head back, and were treated by a rare and beautiful sight; The bluebell wood. I pulled up in a lay-by and proceeded to step into what felt like another magical world. It really did feel dreamlike walking through the long grass, with the sun streaming through the gaps in the trees, casting mystical shadows across a sea of blue as far as the eye could see. I felt so lucky to have been able to catch the beauty of them so late on in the season, as I had been hoping to spot some on many a country drive throughout May, so it really was a treat.
See what I mean...? Magical.
