After months of wondering 'should I, shouldn't I', I have decided to introduce a small Kidswear section to my blog where I will produce wish lists and moodboards of current clothing that catches my eye for littleuns', and any events/ press days I may go to that features childrenswear. As my wonderful little boy is the biggest part of my life, and I am always on the look out for cute and cool clothes for him (often marching straight to the baby section before looking at anything for myself now!), I felt it was an obvious addition to my blog, and I hope other Mummies who read Mode Madeleine will find it useful/ interesting. I'm very wary of keeping my blog predominantly about women's fashion - I will not be classing myself as a 'Mummy blogger' because of this slight change, still an #fblogger :)
So enough of the chit chat! I thought I'd start off my first kiddies post with some images from the Marks & Spencer A/W 14 Press day from the other week. There were some really adorable little pieces, with animal motifs featuring heavily on the girlswear and a strong space theme for the boys. I love the cute little bear bowler hat and how it had been styled with a mustard cardi and patterned skirt, and my favourite item for the boys were the cool astronaut printed socks!
I thought how the show space had been set up and styled was really lovely; I especially loved to see this wall with the designer inspiration, filled with fabric swatches and embellishment. I felt this added a real creative and unique touch to the whole look - I'd love to see more of this type of thing at other press days for Womenswear!
This beautiful frilly lilac dress (centre) would be absolutely gorgeous for a picnic in the sunshine for all those little princesses out there!
I loved the whole colour palette for boys, which included babywear and older sizes. So fresh and vibrant, which is so nice to see for A/W especially for childrens clothes, it keeps it young and fun, just the way they should look in their little outfits!
I'd love to know what you think about this new element added to the blog. It will only be quite occasional, but I hope it brings some interest to anyone with children/ neices/ nephews/ cousins etc!
Drop me a comment below with your thoughts :)
