I look forward to Jasper Garvida's gorgeous, wearable creations each London Fashion Week. I must admit however, this collection did not have me as transfixed on the runway as his designs usually do. I think that is perhaps because the looks seemed to be much more commercial than usual, with not quite as much of a creative vibe and essence as seen in previous shows. However, I did enjoy it, and it was held in a beautiful location at the very fashionable and swanky ME London hotel. I particularly liked the combination of the glitzy metallic gold and silver pieces with a slight nod to a ethnic/tribal trend, as seen with the statement wooden neck pieces and wide waist cinching belts. There was another sub-trend going on with this collection, which was the patchwork denim seen on a cute two piece and some high waisted, wide legged trousers - slightly reminiscent of the 70's. The Seventies have proved to be a major influence for many designers this LFW, so get ready to pull out your Mum's old flares & get digging around at the markets in East London for some vintage finds next Summer!
