It's that time of year - Christmas Jumper Day, yay! Which means the big day is getting closer. I've always loved Christmas, but when I hit my Twenties the excitement and novelty of it started to wear off, but now I have my beautiful Son to spoil and dress up in cute little outfits, I seem to have somewhat turned back into an excitable little 10 year old girl again...and I love it! A couple of weeks back Laura Ashley got in touch and asked if I wanted to chose a festive jumper from their collection to style up and create a post for them - of course I jumped at the chance, I love a good Crimbo jumper, me!
Now personally, I am not really a fan of 'proper' novelty styles with Rudolph and the like plastered all over the front, (unless it's for my Son - then it's totally adorable!) so I was delighted to be offered a choice of designs that were all very classy and luxurious looking. I settled on this gorgeous cream cable knit, as not only am I loving the whole roll neck trend this season (I know, I know, I keep banging on about them...#sorrynotsorry), I'm also really into monochrome dressing, so the combination of the two swayed me. I love how there is just a little pop of colour with the red accents to add a bit of vibrancy, and this is what inspired me to team it with these ASOS peg leg trousers. I'm really into mixing tailored pieces with an oversized tee or jumper right now, and I was so pleased the two pieces really worked well together.
When the jumper arrived, I was amazed at just how soft and snuggly it was to wear - that being said, the temperature has seemingly dropped dramatically lately, so my ensemble still required an outerwear item. I wanted to keep the whole look fresh and fun, so didn't want to drag it down with a heavy black coat, so went with this grey Dorothy Perkins boyfriend coat instead, finishing off with a little bit of shimmer on my feet with a pair of metallic heels. I went for a size up on the jumper, as I wanted it to be extra cosy and I'm so glad I did - this is going to be my go-to knitwear item for the whole of this month I think! I continued to wear the jumper after shooting this outfit, to feel super festive for a family day taking my little boy to Santa's Grotto for the first time (to see pictures of that, head to my Instagram).
