The other week I was very fortunate to be asked to pick an entire outfit from Missguided's extensive party-wear range, to style up on the blog! I spent a good while perusing their collection, there were so many gorgeous pieces that just had me longing for a night out so I could dress up in it all! I eventually settled on this stunning embellished full skirt, as I didn't want to go for the obvious, bodycon dress which is what I would usually wear for a party, as I wanted to show how to mix things up a bit when it comes to dressing up to the nines for a big night out. I'm absolutely loving all things cape at the moment, so this cape blazer was an easy decision and I thought it would add a cool tailored spin on the skirt. Because the skirt is so busy, I wanted to keep the rest of the outfit sleek so just opted for a plain black high neck cropped jumper, which just blends into the background as the focus should be all about the blazer and the skirt. To finish off, I thought these metallic bronze beauties would be the perfect choice of footwear, to add a little shimmer and shine to my step (and on the dance-floor!) along with the layered necklace to add a little detail to the top part. What do you think of my choices? You can view the whole party shop range here, and there's even a cheeky little sale on at the moment!
This outfit was heavily inspired by the AW14 Dark floral/ fairy-tale trend, as seen on the runway from the likes of D&G, Alexander McQueen and Valentino. I wanted to add a bit of atmosphere and mise-en-scene to my outfit photos, to really show the skirt off and to create that subtle fairy-tale vibe. After shooting this outfit, I stumbled across a little toadstool patch, now you can't get much more magical and fairy-esque than that...
I had so much fun choosing and styling up this outfit, and now I can't wait to wear it out one evening during the party season; thank you to Robyn and Missguided for the beauteous items x
