The other week the lovely Octane PR girls got in touch and asked if I'd like to chose a pair of shoes from Rainbow Club , and use their bespoke colour studio services to completely tailor them to my choice. Of course I jumped at the chance - a girl can never have too many pair of shoes right? Plus I was intrigued by the bespoke service so wanted to give it a go. Rainbow Club are ultimately a bridal boutique, specialising in the design and colouring of their handmade satin wedding shoes, which they have been practising since the mid 1980's, and are now a renowned name within the wedding industry.
Each brand is unique and exclusive, created in-house by Head of Design, Diane Hassall, who with over 20 years of experience, started off being mentored by the one and only King of shoes, Jimmy Choo. Every pair of shoes is handmade with Rainbow Club's exclusive dyeable satins and some embellished with Swarovski buckles, beads and gems.
The USP of this brand, is that whatever you choose from their boutique, whether that be a pair of shoes or a bag, they can hand colour your item to match whatever shade you want. This is done in their in-house Colour Studio where all the colours are mixed by their expert colourists.
This idea to me is just perfect! How many times have you been searching for the perfect pair of shoes to match your outfit, but the colour just doesn't quite match? Well, here's the solution ladies! Although the brand specialises in bridal shoes, they can be worn for all different types of occasions - especially as you can order them in any colour you like which automatically transforms them from iconic ivory wedding shoes, into a completely new look for a night out, dinner or just to enjoy during the day.
I opted for Antonia as my chosen style and you can see above how they look in their original ivory satin. I love pointed toes and the heel is just the right height to be able to wear these comfortably in the daytime, and not too low to be dangerously close to entering into kitten heel territory! I also love a bit of sparkle (as we all know), and thought that they would look beautiful in a really rich, jewel tone. I toyed with choosing a deep plummy, mulberry colour, but realised I do actually have a pair of plum ankle strap heels and wanted to make sure I would get wear out of my Antonia beauties. So in the end I went for a gorgeous emerald/ forest green; I had recently bought this chunky jumper from New Look, and although it's a super casual item, I knew straight away when the shoes arrived that I would team them with that. I wanted to show how a fabulous pair of shoes don't have to stay hidden away in the wardrobe, collecting dust waiting for a night out or special occasion; I personally have so many beautiful heels that barely see the light of day now I rarely go out (that sounds so sad...I mean 'out out'!) so I thought, 'you know what? I'm going to start enjoying them' and I want you ladies to do the same! Ok, it's not always practical especially in the Winter, when it's either tipping down with rain, icy or potentially snowing...I'm not going to be wearing anything then apart from my Hunters! But, on mild days, why on earth not!? So, here is my casual, normal everyday outfit, glammed up with my Rainbow Club pretties. I love a good pair of boyfriend jeans teamed with a pointy heel for a laid back, chic look, so popped them on along with my beloved Boohoo camel coat and finished off with a silver statement necklace from Next, and my teal faux fur stole to add a little understated glamour. I found these shoes one of the most comfortable pairs I own, which is always a bonus! They also came beautifully packaged in a pink and white candy striped box, wrapped up delicately in tissue paper - see the image later on in the post.
