FASHION: Top 12 Red Carpet Looks From the BRIT's 2015

Head to Toe White
Every year I always endeavour to write up a post after each awards show, after ogling at all the beautiful outfits that take to the red carpet. However, this never ends up materialising due to so many other things taking place or that need to be blogged about, around the tail end of January and especially February, which are of course, the months where it all takes place. The other day a friend of mine suggested doing a piece on award show fashion, to hear my opinion among many others of course, but perhaps with less of a sharp tounge than some bloggers/ journalists. So I was inspired to write my own thoughts on the red carpet glamour! I'm much more about celebrating women and their style, bodies, achievements etc. than slating them - us girls should stick together! That being said, doesn't mean I haven't looked at some outfits and thought what the hell were you thinking (ahem, Charli XCX....) but I would rather keep the less positive thoughts to myself - those who know me well will know that I never have been a 'bitchy' type, and I'm not about to change that now! So, let's get onto my favourite looks and what I love about them from last night's BRIT's...
From left to right: Grace Chatto in custom made Coach with De Beers jewellery, Ellie Goulding in a Alberta Ferretti gown with Boucheron jewels, Karlie Kloss in Tom Ford.
In my humble opinion, I love an all white ensemble; you just can't go wrong - classy, effortless, elegant, clean, crisp and angelic like! Although I personally wouldn't wear what Grace Chatto has worn to a red carpet event, I love the whole cape trend and she has managed to pull it off with a more black tie vibe, remaining classy with not showing tons of flesh, but also keeping it modern and unique.
Watching The BRIT's last night, I instantly swooned over Ellie Goulding's stunning Alberta Ferretti creation, she looked so serene and so naturally pretty - her hair and makeup were spot on, leaving her natural beauty and of course the dress do all the talking. Ferretti is one of my favourite designers and I couldn't think of a more perfect match for Ms Goulding.
Karlie Kloss, VS Angel extraordinaire could quite literally wear a bin bag and look insane! I wasn't too sure of this Tom Ford dress at first when she came on with Jimmy Carr to present an award, but seeing it static in pictures I've changed my mind and think she works the floor length white gown perfectly - the splash of black, the high neck and cut out detailing keep it looking modern and fun, otherwise it could verge on being slightly frumpy...not that she would look frumpy in anything mind!
Fearne Cotton in a vintage dress by One Vintage, Holly Willoughby in an embellished dress, Rita Ora in a Zuhair Murad jumpsuit with Jessica McCormack diamonds
I love Fearne Cotton and adore her style. I don't think she has ever gotten it wrong! I love the fact that she went for a one off vintage find for her dress of choice - and what a beauty it is! I love the champagne colour, the cut, the embellishment, everything! The empire line shift dress style wouldn't suit every body shape, but Fearne has quite a boyish shape so this style really works for her and oozes femininity. I think it really suits her personality too, it's cute, fun, girly and vintage! The abundance of gold slightly takes away from the dress - I personally might have styled it with a pair of nude stilettoes and a more demure earring - but, it's Fearne, and it still works!
Now I won't lie and say this is my favourite dress, in fact I'm not a huge fan of it at all, however, I think it really works for Holly; you can tell she's having fun and she's happy, and I think that's part of the appeal of this look for me! Happiness really is such an attractive trait. Considering she not long ago had another baba, she looks fab!
Oh Rita, you goddess you. Whatever the hair style or colour she always just looks amazing! I love this new hair and love the contrast of the short edgy, almost trashy (but in a good way) bleach blonde do', with this stunning Zuhair Murad jumpsuit (who knew it was a jumpsuit!?). The paleness of the dress and her hair work so well juxtaposed with her dark features and eye makeup. There's not much more to say about this, apart from she just looks incredible - I love how she manages to keep it classy while still clearly staying true to her style.
Ladies in Red
Paloma Faith in Giorgio Armani Prive, Jessie Ware in Miu Miu, Taylor Swift in Roberto Cavalli.
Paloma Faith is one of my all time favourite celebrities - I just love her voice, her style, but most of all her quirk and fantastic personality - along with Fearne Cotton she's someone I really think I could be great friends with...Anyway, to the dress! Again it wouldn't be my personal choice, but wow does she work it! I don't think you can really go wrong when dressed in Armani Prive to be honest! The colour looks beautiful with her slicked back strawberry blonde locks and vibrant scarlet lip. I really love how she's just kept it simple with a black court shoe and no accessories or jewellery - with a dress like that you really don't need much more!
Another British female artist I love, Jessie Ware. I think she looks incredible in this plunging Miu Miu number and the burgundy really works well with her skin tone and dark hair. Again left quite simple solely accessorised with a chic box clutch, she remains looking classy and elegant, alluding that all important understated glamour.
Over the last year I seem to have fallen in love with Taylor Swift, after not wanting to like her for most of her career - I just couldn't get to grips with that cheesy, pop princess she started off as, and seeming to be so sugary sweet all the time. But now, I think that is actually just her, and now I find it charming rather than sickly, and want to embrace the fact there are artists out there doing what they love and enjoying it; not putting on a front of being all cool because they are in the limelight. I think Swifty is actually quite notoriously uncool, she's quite geeky in a loveable, somehow fashionable way, with a very pretty face and incredible pins, and you just can't help but tap your foot along to her songs and get sucked in by her pure happiness. Anyway now I've finished being all 'gushy', I'll move onto the dress. I may be wrong but I'm guessing she opted for this particular design as it has not long been Chinese New Year? Like I say I could totally have made that up. There's no doubt about it that it is a stunning creation with incredible craftsmanship from Cavalli, but it is not really to my taste. However, she totally rocks it with her tall and slim figure, cute cropped hair cut and bold red lip.
All Black Everything
Ashley Roberts in an LBD, Emma Bunton in tailored suit, Annie Mac in a bandeau jumpsuit.

We all know you can't go wrong with an all black everything outfit, especially when gracing the red carpet. These ladies have taken the LBD and made it into their own. I love Ashley Robert's dress- the embellished cut out bodice is beautiful while the layered bottom half is fun and young! The shoes tie in really nicely too, enough detail to be noticeable while ensuring the focus is returned back to the dress. I like the laid back hair with this as well, it keeps it looking natural and effortless.

I do love a suit combo when it's done properly, and think Emma Bunton has nailed it. She manages to keep this masculine style feminine and to me it oozes sex appeal! I love that it's kept monochrome with the white blouse underneath, but with an unexpected splash of colour with the green clutch, injecting a bit of fun and quirk which keeps the look from coming across too harsh or serious.

Annie Mac is another one who always looks fab! I love this really pared back, chic vibe she's gone for with the bandeau jumpsuit, styled with an on trend choker style necklace, fun cube clutch bag and pink heels to jazz it up a bit and add her own unique style into the mix.

Best Dressed Couple
Jos├ęphine de La Baume and Mark Ronson.

When I came across this picture on Vogue, I knew I had to include it in this post. I love how they're co-ordinating their outfits, but not in an obvious way. The yellow gold tone of Josephine's dress compliments Mark Ronson's champagne toned jacket beautifully, and I love his little peacock feather slotted into the pocket. You can tell he is putting his own stamp on the outfit there, and I like the whole vintage vibe they both have going on. They just look good together, don't you think!?

Does anyone have a favourite from last night's red carpet attendees or performers?
