Today marks the #WearItBeatIt fundraising campaign for The British Heart Foundation, in which the organisation encourages the public to wear a splash of red - whether that be a complete outfit, fancy dress or just a subtle nod to this great cause by painting on a red lip, and organising an event or taking part in one. If you're wearing red today to support The BHF, snap a picture and post it on Instagram or Twitter with the #WearItBeatIt hashtag. Don't forget to donate £3 by texting 'RED' to 70060 - it's all well and good getting involved with the dressing up, and as much as it creates awareness, The British Heart Foundation still need those pennies!
I was asked by my lovely blogger friend Amy (one half of blogging duo Two Shoes One Pair) to get involved with her personal campaign to support this incredible charity which is extremely close to her heart (head to her JustGiving page to read her story & donate). The campaign involves getting fellow bloggers to take part by creating a post featuring a red item, or by posting a selfie to Instagram or Twitter wearing something red and tagging it with the hashtag #TSOPxBHF. Amy has said she is going to donate £1 for every photo displaying the hashtag, which is such an generous promise and I fully admire her for everything she has been through, but also for creating such a fab way of spreading the word and encouraging people to donate! So far, Amy has raised £327.63 which is an incredible achievement - especially as the target was £100! Hats off to you lady. I'm off to donate now, so I hope you'll do the same; remember to include the hashtags #WearItBeatIt and #TSOPxBHF when you upload your red selfies!
