As our wonderful British weather has taken a turn for the worst over the last couple of days, I thought it was the ideal time to get this post up featuring this super cute khaki crochet ASOS dress and Dorothy Perkins waterfall jacket combo. As you may have guessed, khaki is another massive trend for this season, fitting into both military vibes as well as the ever popular utility trend.
I never used to be a big fan of khaki if I'm honest, it was the one colour that just never really did anything for me, but as I've matured I think I can just about get away with it on certain items. If I'm being really honest, it's still not my favourite colour in the world, but it has it's place in my wardrobe now. I do however, really love this little drop waist crochet number - it adds a feminine edge to the otherwise quite masculine khaki. Due to the weather I wore this crochet ASOS dress with tights, but because crochet is such a gorgeous fabric to don during the warmer months, this dress will see me through SS15 perfectly sans jacket, with bare legs and some pretty sandals. I decided to pair the dress with this waterfall jacket from Dorothy Perkins to double up the khaki and keep the look fairly simple and toned down. Of course I had to add just a splash of Magpie into the mix, with this stunning statement necklace from Phase Eight. I topped the whole look off with these gorgeous deep burgundy buckled boots from Missguided, which have a slight military vibe to them, to refrain from the ensemble being too girly - I wanted to keep it a little rough around the edges with just a touch of glamour provided by the necklace.
