Bonjour! Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter break and enjoyed the small amount of sunshine we were lucky to have. Today I've been reliving my 25th Birthday in Paris, by finally getting around to getting this post together to show you what I wore on the day.
I realise this outfit is not exactly season appropriate anymore (although if you feel the cold easily like me, perhaps it might be - it's still pretty nippy out there at times!) However, I really loved some of the pieces in my ensemble, so I couldn't not post these photos. I was glad the surprise wasn't kept a surprise for very long, as it meant I could properly plan my outfit and not get in a faff about it if left to the last minute! I knew I wanted to keep my look fairly classic and minimal, to fit in with the oh-so-chic Parisians, so opted for a strictly monochromatic colour palette, subtly jazzed up with a vibrant red lip (check out the picture below Dan captured of me topping up said lippie just before we shot these pictures...slightly cringe but I also thought it was kinda cool as well - a little bit 'behind the scenes' if you like!) I found this gorgeous Chanel-esque/ Sixties-esque shift dress online at River Island (which is sadly now out of stock), and knew this dress was The One for my Parisian adventure. This was obviously back at the beginning of March, so I knew it would be chilly there, hence why I layered the dress over my trusty black polo neck from Zara for added warmth. As much as my heart desperately wanted to wear heels to Paris, my head told me comfort would be key as I'd inevitably be walking around all day (which we did, bar the odd taxi ride), so I listened to my sensible side and opted for these flat OTK boots Dan got me for Christmas; and I can safely say that after being on my feet for the best part of a 14 hour day, my feet were completely blister free! I had had my eye on the uber popular Missguided 'Khloe' coat in cream for a while and though this would be the perfect piece to compliment the dress. (FYI annoyingly for me but a bonus for you - it's now in the sale down from £60 to £35!) I added a cream belt to cinch in my waist, attached a brooch to one of the lapels, a dogtooth scarf for the colder moments, my favourite Miu Miu shades and a moc-croc Karen Millen tote to complete my look. If you fancy seeing a bit more of what I got up to in old Pariieee, you can see my photo diary complete with Eiffel Tower and macaroons here.
