Unless you've been living under a rock for the past month or so, you will be aware of the new 'IT' shoe - the Ghillie, the Lace Up, the Gladiator - anything which ties up around your ankle or leg is a seriously hot piece of shoe candy right now. I first spotted the classic Ghillie shoe in a green snake print from Topshop (similar to no.10) a few months back and fell in love. Of course they sold out instantly and I wish I had snapped them up - regardless of the fact I would have absolutely nowhere to wear them! Since then I have become obsessed with this style of shoe, just like the majority of the fashion industry and have been on a quest to find the perfect pair. I thought I would do a little round up of some of my favourites I've spotted online recently - there's something for everyone here whatever your budget, from Viktor & Rolf to New Look. I think the reason why these types of shoes are so popular is that a) they're extremely versatile - flat or heeled versions look great with pretty much anything from distressed boyfriend jeans, to a full skirt or culottes, and b) they're ever so chic and flattering - it must be something about the lace up detail, it elongates the leg which would convey legs for days that even Rosie Huntington-Whiteley would be envious of! Personally, I love the grey snake effect flats from Topshop (no.4) as they're practical but stylish, will go with pretty much any outfit I throw together and they will see me through to Winter perfectly. I'm currently saving up my pennies for these babies, but I'm worried they'll get snapped up like everything I fall in love with from Topshop does, especially as they've been such a huge hit with Bloggers alike across social media! As you can see, there are so many styles to choose from; wedges, stilettoes, kitten heels, flats, chunky heels - the list is endless!
Do you like this new shoe trend? What's your favourite style from above?
Until next time...
