If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen that last week I took part in Dorothy Perkins Style Heroes campaign for a second time (see my previous post and read the concept behind these campaigns here). For the week I was participating in, the focus was on styling the 'skinny pant' and the tote bag. I chose these monochrome gingham stretch trousers as thought they would be the perfect, more chic alternative to the legging, providing comfort with the soft stretch material, but aren't too casual to rock for work and meetings.
Once I had chosen these I knew I wanted my look to be mainly monochrome, so opted for this large belted tote bag in a vibrant red, which I thought would add a zingy pop of colour into my planned look. I also knew that I had these fabulous red minimal ankle strap sandals from my previous Dorothy Perkins workwear campaign which would coordinate perfectly. I added a simple white roll neck jumper and this sleek longline wool blend sleeveless blazer to just finish the outfit off with a touch of simple layering. As a last minute addition, I threw on one of my trusty statement necklaces to tie in with the pops of red, as the top provided quite a large expanse of white so I wanted to break it up a little. If you haven't heard of the Style Heroes campaign, it is essentially an edit that Dorothy Perkins put together of essential wardrobe staples that will see you through each season. The idea is for customers to be selective and create a capsule wardrobe with the 10 key pieces, to be reworked into numerous ways and creating versatile looks, time and time again.
