Hello and a very Happy Friday to you! Today's outfit post is all about stripping it right back to basics with a minimalistic approach to dressing. If you're a regular reader of Mode Madeleine, it'll be no surprise that over the last year or so I have converted to a much more simplistic wardrobe; appreciating the quality of a garment rather than the stock piling huge quantities of trend led pieces. Now I'm all about creating my capsule wardrobe with good quality, timeless, classic pieces which should hopefully see me through the last of my Twenties and into my Thirties.
A couple of weeks back I was kindly invited by The Dressing Room team to attend their VIP Blogger Birthday Party to celebrate 10 years of the St. Albans store. I had never been to St. Albans before and it is such a pretty and quaint little town, I'd love to go back and explore a bit more! The Dressing Room boutique is a beautiful haven of high quality fashion, shoes and accessories, encompassing a light and airy room with gorgeous bouquets of flowers adorning every table in sight, and decadent furniture in the seated area, offering a truly luxurious experience for it's clientele.

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past month or so, you will be aware of the new 'IT' shoe - the Ghillie, the Lace Up, the Gladiator - anything which ties up around your ankle or leg is a seriously hot piece of shoe candy right now.
A few weeks ago I was invited to the F&F AW15 preview at the extremely decadent Savoy hotel. It was an incredible afternoon spent in the most lavish of settings, enjoying prosecco, delicious nibbles and catching up with some familiar bloggers as well as having the chance to meet some lovely new bloggers while seated at the beautifully laid out round tables awaiting the catwalk.
Just a quick one today - I feel really behind with my 'Happy Highlights' - these are a few stragglers from the last few weeks of April. So far 2015 has been a mix of some amazing times and memories made, with a few crappy things - but I won't go into those because I don't want to bore you and in the big scheme of things, are pretty minute. Plus, it's FRIDAY! So we are all about positivity over here - I don't know about you, but this week has seemed sooo long - & I've only had a 3 day week!! Here's a quick run down of the images...
It's crazy to think that these pictures were taken only a few weeks ago, on a beautiful scorching day in London, and now the weather is all over the place - heck, there were near enough gail force winds down South yesterday! Looking through these images takes me back to sunnier, warmer times and makes me desperate to bust out the Summer clothes again as I write up this post in jeans and a roll neck jumper...! This incredible Ecru punched leather dress from Next is just the ultimate day-to-night item and will see me right through to the colder months where I'll layer up with a roll neck underneath, thick tights and chunky boots.
There are so many fabulous things online at the moment that it makes the fact I'm on a spending ban even more depressing! I'm going on a hen do in June to Marbs so I'm having to save all my pennies for that - so until then, a wishlist will just have to suffice for now. The two things I'm really loving at the moment are stripes and anything navy; I really didn't used to be a fan of navy but now I just can't get enough of it! I adore this kimono maxi dress and think it would look superb with all gold accessories and tan or metallic gladiator sandals - I'd love to be able to wear this and sashay around on the beaches of Marbella!
