OUTFIT | Autumn Style With Matalan

I have to admit, it took me a long time to accept that Summer is officially over and it's now Autumn's time to shine. It was such a great 6 weeks off, filled with wonderful memories of sunny days out spent with my favourite mini human and we truly were blessed with the weather this year; I think I was in mourning. However, I'm now well and truly over it and embracing A/W with open arms; excited for lots of woodland walks in wellies, trundling through crisp cranberry coloured leaves, wrapped up in chunky knits cradling creamy hot chocolates watching the sky light up with glitter on Bonfire night and cosy nights in front of the fire.

OUTFIT | Slip dress

The final instalment from my Summer outfits - The Slip Dress. I adore this dress and think it is such a versatile piece; back in the hazy Summer days it was perfect to just throw on due to it's sheer fabric, but now in Autumn, it can still be just as great, layered over a black polo neck and woolly tights with chunky boots. I adore the whole slip dress/ cami paired with a long sleeved top or polo neck and it means those gorgeous Summer frocks are not wasted, as they can just be reworked with a few different pieces during the Winter - easy peasy!

OUTFIT | Muted Tones & Seaside Dreams

Another one of my belated Summer outfit posts to go up - this is one of my favourite go to get ups from the Summer...a loose blouse paired with comfy culottes...easy, simple, can't go wrong. There's just something about a white top combined with a denim bottom that I just don't think will ever get old, it's such a timeless classical combination. I love adding a little twist to the expected though, so the interesting lace detail on this cami adds texture in all the right placed, making it a little more special than just a standard white Tee.

OUTFIT | Painterly Prints

Another outfit shot in Devon from the Summer that never quite made it onto the blog at the time, this time in my all time favourite places when I visit North Devon - a little fishing village called Appledore. It is the prettiest, chocolate box cute, little towns. This dress was an obvious choice when visiting Appledore, due to it's abstract, arty, painterly style, as it just fitted in so well with the narrow, winding roads, pastel coloured houses and doorways and an abundance of flowers adorning every street corner.

OUTFIT | Hazy Beach Days and White Beaded Dresses

As always I'm a little late posting my Summer outfits - I can't believe these pictures were only taken a couple of months ago, it's absolutely freezing now already so it's hard to imagine it was ever this warm in the UK where a little sleeveless dress was sufficient enough clothing. These were just some pictures my little Bro took for me while on a family trip to Devon over the Summer. This was on my childhood favourite beach - Westward Ho! I just love it here, it brings back so many memories and now I can create new ones with my little boy and hope that he has just as fond memories of this place when he grows up.

OUTFIT | Seaside Simplicity

Well, well, well! I appear to have finally got my act together after about 5 months sans blogging, hurrah! I'm not going to ramble on about who/ what/ why or when, and just going to get straight to the outfit. These shots were taken by my very talented little (but a few feet taller) Bro, while we were vacaying with Mother and the Toddler visiting my Nan down in North Devon this Summer. Specifically, they were taken at the cutest little fishing town called Appledore; it is one of my favourite ever places. I used to go down to Devon every Summer when I was little with my parents, so there are many little villages down there that I hold close to my heart as they are just filled with childhood memories. I love the fact that I am now able to take Theo down there and show him all the places I used to love as a child - and still do now! There's just something so refreshing and peaceful about visiting Devon. Everyone is always so friendly and life just seems to kind of slow down a few paces and things just feel simpler in a way. I would love to retire to somewhere like that one day and to be able to step outside my front door and smell the salty, sea breeze. I won't talk too much more about the trip as I think I'll do a separate post on it with some of the more lifestyle photos I took.

OUTFIT | Occasion Wear With Dorothy Perkins

Hello, hello! For anyone who is remotely interested, you may have noticed that I have had a slight blogging hiatus over the past couple of months. I won't get into divulging any information and boring you with details as to why right now - depending on how brave I feel in the next few weeks, I may save it for a future post. So what better way to make my return back to the 'blogosphere' than with a fabulous occasionwear collaboration with Dorothy Perkins!?

OUTFIT | In The Navy

It's been a little while since an outfit post went up over here - I've been cheating on Fashion with Beauty and Lifestyle lately, oops! Anyway, I've got my OOTD mojo back - which could have been something to do with this gorgeous inky blue faux fur coat. I actually won this Bon Prix beauty from a styling challenge I took part in at the Bloggers Festival back in September last year and I have just been waiting for the temperature to drop enough for me to give it it's first outing. Now if you're UK based, then I'm sure you'll agree with me that it is definitely faux fur weather right now. Usually I'd be moaning about being cold all the time (ok, I still might be doing that a tad...) but with this little number keeping me cosy and keeping those Monday blues at bay, I am A-OK.

BEAUTY | January Drugstore Product Review

creative lay out of beauty products
So January has come and gone; hands up who's glad to see the back of the January Blues?! I for one luckily haven't been too affected by the humdrum and slowness after all the excitement of Christmas this January. Usually I'm desperate to make plans and keep busy, but with a few toddler tantrums thrown into the mix nowadays along with a career change that began at the beginning of December, I have welcomed the peace and quiet and 'nothingness' of this month with open arms. That said, now I've had my relaxation time, I'm itching to get busy again and start planning my Birthday celebrations for the beginning of March! Anyway, enough rambling - let's get on with the topic of the post...

INTERIORS | Bedroom Makeover With Laura Ashley

I am super excited to finally share these photos with you! Forget 'New Year, New Me', today it's all about 'New Year, New Home'. I have been wanting to update the bedroom for so long now, but with a to-do list as long as my arm which never seems to decrease in size, unfortunately it's always just been one of those things that doesn't take priority over the every day necessities, and gets pushed further and further down the list. So for 2016, I made it my goal to make it a priority once and for all and spruce up the room. Of course it helps a great deal when you've been very kindly sent some beautiful pieces from the queen of interiors; Laura Ashley.

LIFESTYLE | New Year's Resolutions 2016

Happy New Yeaarrrr! 2016 is finally upon us and I hope you all celebrated in style last night with loved ones. I went back on everything I said in my previous post and definitely ended up going 'out out' and partying the night away into the wee hours. So much for a cosy night in! Anyway, I thought I would start as I mean to go on with one of my New Years resolutions which is to be more consistent with blogging; so here is my first post of 2016 - nothing too obscure, just a few resolutions. Some that seemed to slip through the net from last year's list, which let's face it, is inevitable really isn't it? However, I do think I may have set myself a few too many promises to myself last time, so I'm keeping it much more simple this time round in the hope that I succeed with all of them. After all, it's quality over quantity and now with hindsight, I'd much rather stick to a couple of resolutions and fulfil them properly! So here goes...

1. Be kind to myself. This means - going to bed earlier and not fretting whether I've got all the housework done and not worrying whether the flat is in a bit of a mess a few days out of the week. This also means to put myself first sometimes instead of always trying to put others wishes, wants and happiness above my own. Eating healthy(ish) also falls into this one - but at the same time, not beating myself up about it too much.

2. As mentioned above - just be a bit of a better blogger. I'm going to work harder at posting more regularly and be more organised, especially seeing as I have a shiny new laptop that needs lots of love and attention...

3. Better time management. Now this one pretty much crops up every year. One day, I will succeed - and hopefully 2016 will hold that day!

As you can see, a much smaller list to last year's, but I'm hoping this will mean more of a success rate!

What are you hoping to change for the new year? What are your hopes and dreams?
